Eigashima White Oak
Eigashima Whisky is brewed in a distillery with a long tradition that initially had nothing to do with Wiskey. Eigashima Shuzo founded the distillery in 1888 near the city of Kobe to make shochu and sake. In 1984, a new facility called "White Oak Distillery" with separate premises for Eigashima Whisky and the two national drinks was created. Unfortunately, the high alcohol tax broke production soon afterwards. Especially because the imported whisky from Ireland and Scotland was much cheaper. Currently, however, the popularity of this liquor from Japan is rising again and has long been an insider tip among whisky connoisseurs.
