Since April 2016, the small JI whisky maker Matsui from Tottori Prefecture, the whisky brand Kurayoshi, produces exclusively for the Japanese market only.
The portfolio includes a NAS, a 12 year old and an 18 year old bottling. There is also a NAS and an 8-year bottling which has been expanded in the sherry barrel.
50% Scottish and 50% Japanese malt whiskys were used and brought to a volume between 43% and 50% with the local spring water. Who is the manufacturer of the two malt whiskys, was not known. It is believed, however, that the Japanese comes from the Nikka house.
