In the 1990s, Japanese whisky producers had to come up with special things to boost sales. An attempt was the Nikka Aqua Whisky which promised to be especially mild and wholesome. The whisky was only bottled at 25% and was a commercial flop. After only 6 months, the production was stopped again.
Today, the bottles are extremely rare and very popular with collectors.
