In mid-2023, the Shizuoka Distillery launched its first bottling using only Japanese barley. This single malt whisky was distilled in the only remaining still of the legendary Karuizawa. After a little over 3 years of aging in bourbon casks, it was bottled at a hefty 55%. The only 2500 bottles that were filled were sold out in hours and were only for the Japanese market.
Only one bottle per person and household.
