The fifth edition of the "The Essence of Suntory Whisky" series was officially released only in bars and was never available for purchase in stores in Japan. There were two different bottlings. These were made from the Golden Promise barley variety. The whisky matured in bourbon barrels for 12 years from 2009 to 2021 before being bottled at cask strength.
