Kurayoshi / Tottori / Matsui

Since April 2016, the small JI whisky producer Matsui from Tottori Prefecture has been producing the whisky brand Kurayoshi exclusively for the Japanese market.

The portfolio includes a NAS, a 12 year old and an 18 year old bottling. There is also a NAS and an 8 year old bottling that was matured in sherry casks.

50% Scottish and 50% Japanese malt whiskies were used and brought to a volume of between 43% and 50% with the addition of local spring water. The manufacturer of the two malt whiskies is not known. However, it is suspected that the Japanese one comes from Nikka.
