Rich in different aromas and a deep taste, that's how Nikka whisky presents itself.

The Story of Nikka Whiskey

The success story of Nikka Whiskey began in 1918. Masataka Taketsuru travelled to Scotland to study and learn the art of whisky production. The family business originally ran a sake brewery, but Taketsuru was magically drawn to whisky production, so that in 1920 he produced this delicious drink himself for the first time in Japan. In 1934 he built the first distillery in Hokkaido, which brewed a whisky with an expressive malt and a distinctive body. Over the next few years, other distilleries were founded, which were able to ensure excellent storage thanks to their exceptional location.

Different flavor variations of the delicious whisky

Nikka Whiskey is characterized by its delicious taste. Due to the tropical and warm weather in Japan, the maturation process of Nikka Whiskey is much faster and leaves a particularly mild taste at the end. Half of the distilleries are mainly involved in the production of malt whiskey and create different flavor variations. The other half specializes in the distillation of grain whiskey. Nikka Whisky From The Barrel is an award-winning blend that harmoniously combines malt and grain. The result is a combination of vanilla, cherry and a pleasant spice that creates a slightly sweet taste. This pleasant sweetness can also be found in Nikka Pure Malt Black, which consists of many berries, dark chocolate and a hint of oak. The light oak aroma is also contained in Nikka Pure Malt Red, which combines the fruity note of pineapple and the freshness of an apple. Coffee lovers, on the other hand, will love the Nikka Single Coffey Malt, as this Nikka whisky is made from 100 percent malted barley mash and is also distilled in a Coffey still. But it's not just the smell of coffee that's in the air; there's also a hint of banana, coconut, honey and dry grass that caress the senses. In addition to the varieties already mentioned, there is a much more extensive range that helps to pamper the taste buds and simply enjoy the taste of the unique Nikka whisky.

Nikka Whisky for a taste experience of the senses

Every country certainly has its own tradition and preferences when it comes to its drinks. Nikka whiskey, on the other hand, has managed to establish itself not only in Japan, but also worldwide. At the beginning, bottlings were imported from Ireland or Scotland, but over the years this has also been taken over by Japan itself. The individual varieties of Nikka whiskey have managed to place themselves at the top of world-famous whiskey varieties thanks to their excellent quality and quantity. The different flavor variations underline the uniqueness of Nikka whiskey and express its full-bodiedness in a special way.
