Kirin-Gotemba
This distillery was founded in the early 1970s as a joint venture in the immediate vicinity of Mount Fuji. In 2002, Kirin Distillery took over the company. To this day, the name Kirin Whisky stands for quality down to the smallest detail. Only high-quality barley from Scotland or Australia is used for the fine drops from this distillery. The water required for Kirin Whisky production is obtained from the distillery's own wells. The main focus in this distillery is on the small and fine details that are of great importance for Kirin Whiskey production.
The Award - Kirin Whiskey
Whether malting, drying, mashing or distilling, nothing is left to chance. It is not without reason that two of the three Kirin whiskey varieties were awarded a gold medal at the ISC 2014. Secret recipes, loving production processes and long-term storage in special wooden barrels together guarantee this indescribable taste, because only a real Kirin whiskey bears and deserves this succinct name.
Kirin Whisky Fuji Sanroku
You can choose between four different types of Kirin whisky. One of the top sellers of this brand is the Kirin Fuji Sanroku 50°. This Kirin whisky is not cold filtered and is therefore very aromatic and has a mild finish. The aroma is reminiscent of caramelized popcorn and vanilla. The Kirin Whisky Oak Master is also one of the favorites of this brand.
Both its distinctive oak note and its round taste are explicit characteristics that define this Kirin Whiskey.
Kirin Whisky Fuji Sanroku 18
If you prefer exquisite drops, you should not miss the taste of the Kirin Fuji Sanroku 18-Oloroso Cask. This strictly limited 18-year-old Kirin whiskey has been matured in Oloroso sherry casks and was distilled in a special way in the Kirin distillery. The unique taste distinguishes this characterful and exquisite whisky. The hint of harmonious aromas give it the fine sherry note. This note completes the long finish and rounds it off perfectly.
Single Malt Kirin Whisky
Last but not least, there is of course the well-known Kirin 18 year old single malt whisky, which lives up to its name and was an absolute insider tip among whisky connoisseurs until not so long ago. With this tipple, too, it is the fruity aromas and woods that create the inimitable taste. The soft scent of pineapple and melon, combined with extracts of currant and strawberry, complete the pleasant smoky note in a special way.
