In 2016, a new small whisky distillery opened in Nagahama and put this New Pot (the pure distillate without storage in wooden barrels) from the first firing in the sale to buy old barrels. These bottlings were strictly limited and are already out of stock in Japan. This new pot was bottled at a hefty 59% and gives over the New Make bottling, this has a slight peat flavor, as pitched malt was used for burning.
